Road Safety Planning & Road Safety Audits - SoRSA Road Safety Day

The casualty reduction targets set for 2020 by the Scottish Government requires road safety plans
to be updated to meet current challenges, taking into account working with stakeholders and giving
consideration to vulnerable road users.
This one day Society of Road Safety Auditors (a branch of The Chartered Institution of Highways
and Transportation) seminar will bring together a number of aspects involved in developing road
safety plans and strategies, and their delivery to reduce road casualties.
Expert speakers from Transport Scotland, Local Authorities, Trunk Road Operating Companies,
Police Scotland, Cycling Scotland and the Institute of Advanced Motorists will cover topics relating
to:
• Strategic and Local Road Safety Plans
• Average Speed Camera Enforcement
• Road Safety Policing
• Designing for Cyclists
• The Motorcyclists’ Perspective on Road Design
• Road Safety Auditing on Trunk and Local Road Networks.
