Speaker Spyridoula Vitouladiti

As part of London’s Roads Task Force TfL have explored the potential to relocate road space underground through integrated highway engineering and land-use planning to release space for walking and cycling, enable development and improve traffic movement. From the initial high level assessment of over 70 locations across London, 9 locations were identified as meriting further work and further feasibilities studies have been undertaken by TfL. The work has been done is phases with the first five locations looked at earlier in the year and a further 4 locations currently being studied. The presentation will provide an overview of the work to date and will discuss how the schemes could potentially deliver the objectives set out by the RTF.

Spyridoula Vitouladiti is a Principal Transport Planner, working in Transport for London’s Planning Department. She is transport planner with extensive experience in transport policy and scheme development and is currently leading the feasibility work for schemes looking to relocate space for motorised traffic under the surface through mini-tunnels, fly-unders or decking over major roads.
