Vincent Tait, Road Safety Manager at Scotland TranServ, will give a talk on the innovative new products and innovative ways that Transerv has been using existing technology in various road safety schemes. This has included:
• trialling the use of a pedestrian crossing phone application (Neatebox) on several crossings
• using vehicle activated signs to:
o target speeding vehicles working in tandem with loop detection to identify the vehicle class and the speed of the vehicle
o warn of signs at sites where there are accidents or issues with users experiencing conflicts and reduced visibility
o provide queue warning signs that are activated depending on the queue length
o provide reverse speed discrimination traffic signals
