Date: 6 October 2016
Time: Refreshments at 17.30
Venue: Leeds Beckett University, Leeds, LS1 3HB
Security-Mindedness for Engineers and Digital Built Environments/BIM and Protective Security Advances for Infrastructure. This very visual presentation will be given by a specialist UK Government Security Advisor and will illustrate a range of protective security challenges for engineers, particularly those emanating from malicious threats including terrorism. It will illustrate traditional and innovative solutions and how such measures can be blended into the environment.
The talk will cover the new Engineering Council guidance on security for all engineers (engc.org.uk/security) and how security-mindedness can be applied to the infrastructure design process without stifling innovation or reducing the collaboration benefits of BIM (referring to the principles of PAS 1192 Part 5).
This is a joint event with ICE and IStructE.
