The Travel Characteristics Survey, supported by over 35 000 participating households, successfully captured comprehensive trip data and perceptions regarding various transport topics, with results released in February 2026. This survey provides an up-to-date, territory-wide snapshot of daily travel behaviors in Hong Kong. The developed database will be a key reference for planning transport infrastructure and formulating transport policies that are tailored to public needs, including updating the Comprehensive Transport Study Model for traffic forecasting.
This presentation will highlight major findings from the survey, draw out emerging trends, and discuss their implications for future transport planning in Hong Kong.
This event is open to everyone working or interested in highways and transportation but will be of particular interest to urban and transport planners, engineers, architects, consultancy, contractors, academia, and researchers.
