Resurfacing Silverstone involved a number of challenges as the requirements are different from those applicable to a highway in terms of both materials and paving as well as the requirement to complete the project shortly before the British Grand Prix. The project required innovations throughout the whole process from quarry, to laboratory, to asphalt plant, planing and paving. The presentation will discuss these challenges, how they differ from those found on a conventional highway resurfacing project how Tarmac is taking forward the knowledge gained from this project into its day to day business.
