Technology has promised to save money, save time and save lives but realising these benefits is often beyond the ability of resource limited local authorities and short term contractual relationships. With speakers from 02, the Behavioural Insights unit, Amey, Arup and PlanGrid, this event will explore the data, software and technology that can help you deliver for your communities in an era of limited resources.

The transport sector is overwhelmed with promises about future technologies but realising that potential is full of potholes.
Designed to support your continued professional development this event will discuss how the transport and telecoms industries can better integrate, how we can use behavioural insights to understand our users, and showcase real world results of smart cities technologies.
Free to CIHT members we will have speakers from O2, the Behavioural Insights unit, Amey, Arup and PlanGrid.
Alex Gilbert, Managing Director of Amey Consulting said “We are delighted to be supporting this event and looking forward to sharing and testing our thoughts on the impact to people’s lives, when a City is truly ‘smart’. As a business our purpose and passion is to create better places. Which is why we are focussed on delivering value for citizens through designing efficient, innovative and connected solutions for cities and living environments. Our team will be presenting a number of live examples and case studies to demonstrate how we are using data to make smart decisions on our assets and why cities need to engage with the customers to really improve lives.”
Patrick Andison an Economics Consultant in Integrated City Planning from Arup, added: "I am looking forward to discussing how we price roads in our cities in the future to: better manage congestion, improve air quality and peoples’ health and deal with technology change"
