Overview

This webinar will provide an update on the changes to the annual review process, providing guidance on the key information necessary to demonstrate competence in the required areas of knowledge and experience. It will also discuss how to compile relevant evidence required to support the application within the specified word limit in each key section.

This presentation will provide important information for all members, particularly experienced road safety auditors seeking to renew their SoRSA membership and those wishing to be awarded a Certificate of Competence required for undertaking road safety audits on the TERN and English National Road Network.

Speakers

This webinar will be provided by current SoRSA Membership Secretary and previous Chair, John Barrel. In attendance will be the current SoRSA Chair Den Symons and current Vice-Chair Eric Hill.

John Barrel - SoRSA Membership Secretary 

John is a Road safety auditor and engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the UK and overseas. He has been on the SoRSA committee in various roles since 2007 and has now taken over as Membership Secretary.

John is involved in the development of RSA guidelines in UK and internationally, and for 15 year a visiting lecturer at Newcastle University delivering the Road Safety modules as part of the Transport Engineering and Operations MSc courses.

John has also assisted the World Bank in the preparation of ‘Road Design for Safety’ publication and is currently a member of PIARC technical Committee 3.1 Road Safety, revising the PIARC RSA Guidelines with particular emphasis on training and qualifications for auditor career development.
