South West Autumn Seminar: Is the Transport Planning Profession Failing Society and the Environment and what is our Response?

Taking place in the County Room at Somerset County Cricket Club, this is a Free event.

Overview
With global carbon emissions from transport still rising and evermore stark warnings from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), action needs to be taken. However, as a profession, we are still struggling to break away from a planning approach that puts the car first. The rapid advances in technology, changing trends in peoples travel and awareness of environmental issues gives us an exciting opportunity to transform mobility.
This year’s Autumn Seminar brings together the understanding of changing travel trends, advances in technology, the need for a wider smart city approach, and new methods of predicting in an uncertain future. We want to debate how to shake up our industry.
