Spectator Movement Tracking and Monitoring During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games - 7 M

Movement Tracking and Monitoring During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
7 March 2013 from 17.30 - 19.00
Atkins, Bank Chambers, Faulkner Street, Manchester, M1 4EH

Speaker: Paul Jackson, Business Development Director, Sky High-Count On Us

Traditional techniques for collecting data on vehicle movement patterns are well developed, although not without their issues. Techniques for collecting data on people movements on foot however, have until recently been relatively very limited in scope, accuracy and viability. Sky High have pioneered the use of mobile device tracking to overcome these issues and provide practitioners with access to a depth of data never before available. This presentation will include examples of applications of this new technique across all modes including experiences of tracking spectators during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This presentation should appeal to those working in transport planning, traffic engineering, traffic management and network monitoring as well as students and graduates. If you are interested in attending this event then you need to reserve a place by contacting Emma Connolly emma.connolly@atkinsglobal.com
