Aimed at transport planners, urban designers and community groups we will look at how you can create places that are inclusive for the young, old, disabled and everybody in between.
Within the UK one of the major changes happening is the UK population is ageing, which means that our transport system will increasingly have to cater for a diverse group of users.
At this event you will hear how some of those who help give the UK its reputation as a leading nation in meeting the transport needs of people with disabilities are working to build a fairer and more inclusive society.
Transport planners, urban designers, engineers.
From junior level who are tasked with designing the actual places, to seniors who set the strategic direction.
From publicly employed at Local Authorities to those working with urban design and transport planning in the private or non-profit sector.
Two global ‘megatrends’ are upon us:
Combined, these two mean that our urban environments will have to cater better for people from all walks of life to make sure that they can live healthy lives.
This is an area that will become increasingly important in what everyone in the highways and transportation sector does. At this event you will get inspiration that you can use in your daily jobs when thinking about how to design inclusive spaces for everyone.
