National Planning Policy Framework - The CIHT response,

Speakers: Sheila Holden and Andreas Markides,

SKM Buchanan,

The CIHT and 14 other leading businesses and organisations noted that sustainable transport was largely missing from the NATIONAL PLANNING POLICY FRAMEWORK and submitted a response in October 2011. Concerns for accessibility and the delivery of sustainable development and growth were some of the implications of transport for society, the economy and the environment?expressed. This presentation explains how the golden thread of integrated, sustainable transport can glue planning objectives together, maximising benefits for a range of road users, and what effects parts of the draft NPPF could have if carried through to the final publication.
