A sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is a strategic plan designed to satisfy the mobility needs of people and business in cities and their surroundings to enable a better quality of life. The concept of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans ( SUMPs) has seen a wide take - up in Europe in recent years. Now, after receiving feedback from cities and practitioners as well as facing the fact that not all plans labelled as SUMP are meeting key SUMP criteria, the European Commission has published revised guidance for sustainable Urban Mobility Planning.
The event is a free one day training course and will provide details on the principles of SUMP, reflecting on changes in policy and news concepts for urban mobility planning.
Transport Planners, policy makers who are involved in transport issues and urban design and other relevant stakeholders who are involved in sustainability issues and transport.
The training day delivers discussion based presentations
Practical examples from across Europe and practical exercises for delivery of SUMP processes.
The day will be facilitated by Claus Kollinger, an ELTIS team member in the design and delivery of SUMP training events
