CIHT Hong Kong is delighted to provide this unique opportunity for a technical site visit to the Central Kowloon Route. Please be aware that spaces for this event are limited.
Central Kowloon Route (CKR) is a 4.7 km long dual 3-lane trunk road constructed under multiple contracts. It will connect the Yau Ma Tei Interchange of West Kowloon with the Kai Tak Development Area and road network of Kowloon Bay in in order to relieve traffic congestion on the existing east-west roads in Central Kowloon.
During this technical visit, the participant will first visit the Community Liaison Centre to learn about the CKR construction process and its benefits for enhancing Kowloon's traffic. The participant will then visit the Smart Site Management Hub of CKR for an introduction to the smart construction technologies implemented by CKR. Participants will then visit the Kai Tak East Site to learn more of the KTE contract, which is one of the contracts covering the construction of a 700-meter-long main road in Kai Tak and the Kai Tak Interchange, as well as bridges, underpasses, and at-grade slip roads connecting the CKR to the existing road network, and other associated works.
As the technical visit will introduce some construction processes, smart construction technology, etc., our target audience are not only CIHT members in Hong Kong but also consists of those working in the construction industry in HK and students from relative majors. All levels are welcome to attend.
