Grant Thornton, Finsbury Square, London
The economic downturn continues to present the industry with challenges but, after the forthcoming General Election, there will be much to discuss with and around the new administration.
The time will be ripe to discuss the key issues facing the UK and to ensure that rail freight and its future needs are on the agenda for an incoming government. Possible changes to the planning system, environmental concerns with the need to cut emissions, proposals for a high speed rail network and European legislation will all have an impact on rail freight.
This conference, timed for just after the General Election will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear from, question and put their concerns to, the new administration. It will also provide a chance to catch up on crucial issues such as asset management and corporate governance. The afternoon will provide an update on developing rail freight markets and progress with European liberalization. Please see the attached draft programme.
