The Belfast Transport Hub is a £multi-million investment and flagship project prioritised in the Programme for Government for funding. The surrounding new city neighbourhood called ‘Weavers Cross’ offers huge investment potential, allowing for over 100,000m2 of commercial space alongside significant residential and amenity space.
Located on an 8-hectare site beside the current Europa Buscentre and Great Victoria Street Stations, it will be the main transport gateway to Belfast, creating a sense of arrival in a modern, progressive city, with rail, bus and coach connections to all parts of Northern Ireland and beyond.
A joint meeting with ICE and CIWEM, this project will be presented through a webinar by Arup’s Infrastructure Director Chris Caves and Translink’s Senior Programme Manager Duncan McAllister.

Duncan McAllister, Senior Programme Manager at Translink
Duncan is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Qualified ILM Level 5 Project Manager, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects and programmes throughout the UK, Ireland, and Asia. He is Translink’s Senior Programme Manager for the Belfast Transport Hub.Prior to working at FTA.
Chris Caves, Director - Infrastructure (Northern Ireland) at Arup
Chris leads Arup's infrastructure business in Northern Ireland, building this from inception to a team of over 50 people.
Over recent years, he has led the delivery of many of Northern Ireland’s most significant projects including A8 Belfast to Larne, A26 Dualling, Coleraine to Derry / Londonderry Track Renewals and Belfast Transport Hub.
