The Highway Plan for Glasgow: A 50 year celebration

Published in 1965 the Highway Plan for Glasgow set out a detailed vision for the city region. Prepared by Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick the plan was prepared and implemented using then cutting edge technology and standards.

Three former Scott Wilson staff will explain the plans development and implementation:
  • Ronnie Hunter - an introduction to the plan; why it was needed; how it was developed; what might have been and the city region legacy.
  • Jim McCafferty - design and construction aspects.
  • Graham Edmond – maintenance, and a look to the future.

This project was the Glasgow equivalent of London’s present Crossrail – come along and celebrate its success!
