Transport legislation arrives once every 8-10 years. With the Buses Bill reaching its final stages of the legislative process, we thought we needed to have a look at what this might mean for passengers, transport planners and public transport operators. David Young, a Director at SCP, will lead us through a presentation and into discussion and Q&A session.
The meeting will cover an introduction to the bus market, the players in the market, the process by which a Bill becomes and Act, and what might the Buses Bill change? You will find out about new and expanded Bus Partnership options, Franchising and powers related to information, ticketing and bus service registration. Finally we can speculate what this might mean for the future.
