Date & Time: Thursday 16th January 2014, 17.30 for 18.00 start.
Venue: Room MC303, McCance Building, Strathclyde University, Richmond St, Glasgow, G1 1XQ
Speaker: Graeme Scott, IBI Group
Transport Scotland’s business requirements for the Scottish Roads Traffic Database (SRTDb) have changed since the SRTDb was developed over 10 years ago, with a greater demand for a wider range of data from all stakeholders, including Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government and other public and private sector organisations.
With an ever increasing volume and nature of data collected, the system has been replaced with the new National Traffic Data System. The NTDS will allow the system to reach its full potential as a valuable data mining tool with enhanced features including reporting interfaces that will facilitate more sophisticated queries and analysis of greater number and range of data sets.
Graeme will present on the development of the new service and the benefits that will be afforded to users of the data and where the system can be further developed to become a National Data Warehouse.
