The Resilience of the Highway Asset

Time: 6.00pm for 6.30pm
Venue: Austin Court  80 Cambridge Street,
Birmingham BN1 2NP

Overview:
While the UK highways industry prepares for the Comprehensive Spending Review this autumn and is already absorbing reductions in construction budgets and the targeted efficiencies demanded by local and central government, expectation of highway quality and the travelling experience remains high with the road-using public. The challenge facing the highways industry is now to match the expectations and needs of the road-user with the reduced funding that will inevitably be available in the coming years.

“Resilience of the Highway Asset” will seek to promote discussion on the key issues that will affect our ability to maintain the resilience of the network with the economic conditions we are likely to encounter, looking at some materials, techniques and maintenance strategies at our disposal.

Booking is not required for this event, admission is free. Light refreshments will be provided
