CIHT North East & Cumbria is excited to co-host this panel event with Paula McMahon, Rachelle Forsythe-Ward, & Wafaa Alijla to celebrate International Women's in Engineering Day together with the Women's Engineering Society.
The event is intended to be a celebration and collaboration of engineering disciplines and is being developed and promoted by colleagues from CIHT and the Women’s Engineering Society.
Discover the work of talented professionals, uncover personal stories, systemic challenges, and visions for the future. There is a need for commitment to supporting a diverse workforce to attract talent, to support emerging professionals in early careers and showcase collaborative spirit.
Anyone working in highways and transportation, and interested in supporting inclusive collaboration and the celebrating the contribution women bring to the engineering profession.

Paula McMahon - Civil Engineer, WES Trustee and Chair Climate Emergency Group, ICE Trustee Professional Conduct and Ethics, Sir Robert McAlpine Her career has included significant roles on high profile projects including the Thames Barrier, Hinkley Point C and DUBAL Aluminium. She is a Chartered Fellow of the ICE and CMI. Paula currently works for Sir Robert McAlpine doing her dream job where she helps staff with their professionally qualifications and manages the Social Value for her project, she Co-Chairs the Gender Equality Network. Paula strongly believes in inspiring and educating everyone towards an equitable and sustainable future. She is the driving force behind Engineering Together bringing together UK and International Engineering Institutions to collaboratively raise awareness and understanding of engineers and engineering. |
