Lunchtime webinar led by the CIHT South East region. This webinar will give an update on Transport for the South East's recent transport strategy publication and it's work on carbon assessments and their technical programme. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A section.
Our event will give an update on our recent transport strategy publication and outline the carbon assessment work being carried out and what we have embarked on with our technical programme. We will also outline some findings from the ‘understanding the impacts of Covid-19’ work that by that point will have recently been completed.
We will also briefly touch upon the soon to be released Government policy paper on devolution and the issues we are trying to address with better integration of transport and land use planning.
Interspersed will be opportunities for questions and answers and one or two quick polling questions.
Target audience are transport professionals, highway professionals, local government officers and civil servants.
Rupert is the chief officer lead for Transport for the South East. He chairs the Senior Officer Group leading the organisation’s development and supports the Chair and Board. He is also the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport at East Sussex County Council.
A former president of the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport, Rupert is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Mark manages TfSE’s technical work programme, including the development and delivery of the transport strategy and a prioritised programme of investment schemes for the Major Road Network. He has 30 years’ experience as a transport planner spanning policy and strategy formulation as well as scheme development and delivery.
Mark previously worked for East Sussex County Council managing the development and implementation of the authority’s transport improvements programme.
