Join the Exeter Emerging Professionals Group as we consider transport planning for school children.
Louis Brown, University of the West of England, will present his research on traffic-related air pollution reduction at UK schools as a consequence of the Covid-19 lockdown. Air pollution is a complex and topical issue, and it’s negative effects on children are disproportionately more severe. Each day children are placed into the most severe pollution whilst on the school run and at the school gates. Shifts in attitudes and behaviours are required to save the lives and health of children with immediate effect.
Liz Holloway, Devon County Council, will present on some of the best school streets initiatives delivered in Devon and explain how they have benefitted children and their communities. Liz will provide some of the key takeaways / lessons learnt, as well as best practice if you are thinking of delivering school streets in your area.
This event is aimed at anyone involved in planning and delivery transport strategy and interventions.
Applicable to all job role / levels within the Transport Planning and Public Transport sectors.
