This webinar will cover transport poverty in Wales, its causes and consequences and what the transport industry can do to affect change. Presentations will include insights into:
We will be hearing from several speakers from across the transport industry to hear their perspective on transport poverty in Wales, from the causes and consequences to the community transport schemes working to alleviate transport exclusion in rural areas of Wales.
The webinar is aimed at transport professionals in Wales who are interested in understanding the issue of transport inclusion in Wales, the current rates of transport poverty, and key factors causing transport poverty at the moment. The webinar will also touch on the role the transport industry can play in reducing transport poverty in the future.

Dr Tom Jarvis - Principal Social Researcher at Transport for the North Dr Tom Jarvis is a Principal Social Researcher at Transport for the North (TfN), and leads TfN’s research and policy work on the social impacts of the transport system. He has a diverse research background, including researching homelessness, community integration, corruption, and the social impacts of armed conflict. He has worked across the public, academic, and charity sectors. |

Stephen Cunnah - Policy & Communications Manager at Sustrans Cymru Stephen Cunnah leads on policy, external affairs and communications for Sustrans Cymru, the charity making it easier for everyone to walk, wheel and cycle. He helps to shape and share their achievements, vision and expertise across Wales. He has a hand in many of the reports, submissions, events, and stories emanating from the organisation. With a background in politics, Stephen worked for many years as a political aide in the Senedd. He is also a Cardiff councillor representing the Canton area, and a charity trustee for a children’s nursery. |

Michelle Clarke - Deputy Director at Community Transport Association Wales Michelle Clarke is the Deputy Director for Wales, supporting the growth of the community transport sector through funding and individually tailored strategic development advice. Through working closely with Gemma, Michelle helps to improve the recognition of community transport within transport policies and plans. Previous experience of leading a small charity has given Michelle a unique insight into the challenges facing community-led organisations, as well as a deep appreciation of the strength and resilience they demonstrate every day. |
