The presentation will include an overview of using mobile phone data in transport modelling, focusing on data fusion process (‘TDiF’) for the use of anonymous mobile phone data in the development of trip demand matrices for transport modelling. This Jacobs developed process, is now a commonly accepted methodology used in the UK, and internationally, to build demand matrices.

Shaleen Srivastava is one of Jacobs divisional directors in Transport Planning business unit and heads our Urban Mobility division. Shaleen is a recognised world expert in in developing trip databases from mobile phone data. Shaleen has successfully led a number of HA projects and brings proven technical expertise and leadership capability covering all aspects of mobile phone data processing and relevant research and development. Shaleen is presently managing the development and servicing of Highways England’s Trip Information System, which is a national trip database of mobile phone ODs in the mainland UK. Other recent mobile phone data projects led by Shaleen include M25 Junction 30 Scheme Assessment Model (HA), A14 Cambridge-Huntingdon Model (HA), A27 Chichester Bypass (HA), M11 Junction 7a Harlow Model for Essex County Council (ECC), Chelmsford Transport Strategy Model for ECC.
