UTMC Tour & Presentation

The Urban Traffic Management Control (UTMC) is operated by Newcastle City Council on behalf of the Tyne and Wear Local Transport Plan (LTP) partners. The overall aim of the UTMC facility is to assist the LTP partners in delivering their policy aims of supporting economic grqwth and regeneration, address climate change and health issues, such as air quality, and support safe and sustainable communities.
 
The UTMC tour will comprise of a talk covering the various systems used, and how data is collected, analysed and used to trigger real-time traffic management interventions and provide travel information to the public. It will also look at the use of historical data to analyse longer-term trends that feeds into planning and policy decision making. Following the talk there will be an opportunity to see the systems in operation.
