The CIHT West Midlands Emerging Professionals Group invites emerging professionals from across the region to join our Summer Hackathon, exploring the theme: 'Transport as an Enabler: Local Challenges, Regional Solutions, National Patterns'.
The hackathon will be an interactive session examining how transport can help address local challenges facing communities across the West Midlands. Taking place during a period of significant investment in regional transport infrastructure, the session provides an opportunity to explore how innovative transport solutions can help tackle some of the enduring challenges present in the region.
Working collaboratively, participants will:
1. Focus on a specific location within the West Midlands
2. Assess local challenges through the lens of the CIHT Emerging Professionals Conference sub-themes: Connectivity, Safety, Health, Social Inclusion, and Progression
3. Identify practical, regionally relevant transport solutions and explore how they could help address these challenges
4. Develop key insights and recommendations to contribute to the wider discussion on the role of transport as an enabler
The outcomes of the hackathon will be presented by a representative of the West Midlands Emerging Professionals Group at the CIHT Emerging Professionals Conference on the 8th September, alongside contributions from emerging professionals representing other CIHT regions.
Open to emerging professionals, graduates and early career-individuals with an interest in shaping the future of transport across the region.
