GoToWebinar: This webinar, organised by CIHT North East & Cumbria, will provide an overview of the Government’s Bus Back Better national bus strategy which was published in March 2021.
The webinar will provide an overview of the Government’s Bus Back Better national bus strategy which was published in March 2021. The new strategy has placed considerable new duties on local transport and highway authorities to build bus infrastructure into their future design and thinking, as well as develop a Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) that unlocks additional funding from Government for bus services and bus investment.
Our speaker, Mike Scott, will set out the key issues raised in Bus Back Better for local highway authorities, explain how transport authorities tackled the challenge of writing a BSIP and preparing for an Enhanced Partnership, and looks at how buses might benefit from this initiative during 2022 and beyond in the context of the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.
Target audience is anybody within the Transport Sector with particular focus on colleagues who work within Public Transport Bodies, Bus Operators, Local Authorities, Joint Partnerships, Non-Governmental Organisations and Private Sector Consultancies.
