The Yorkshire & Humberside Branch Conference will be held on Thursday 28 January 2010 at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. The theme of the conference is What Moves You? and it is ideal for everyone interested in the design, maintenance and operation of land-based transportation networks.
Our aim is to inform the specialist, interest the generalist and nudge the imagination of the strategist. Transportation has many facets and it is our belief that technical advancements and new processes developed for one mode have the potential to be applied with advantage to other modes. The Keynote Address: Transport Planning in an Economic Downturn will be presented by Stephen Glaister, Professor of Transport & Infrastructure, Imperial College, London. There will also be papers on PFI Procurement, Delivering a Sustainable Transport System, Assisting Local Economic Recovery and Nationalising the East Coast Mainline.

Fundamentally, we want to make this an interactive conference, where delegates, through debate and discussion, make as great a contribution to the success of the event as the speakers do by their catalysing input. Please come along, prepared to share your knowledge and experience, in order to gain benefit from the knowledge and experience of others.
This event qualifies for six hours Initial or Continuing Professional Development.
