Resilient Assets for a Resilient World

The World Road Association UK Congress 2016, headline sponsored by Atkins, drew together UK & international expertise in the field of asset management.  Working closely with international experts on the World Road Association Technical Committee D1 Asset Management the event provided an opportunity for anyone working in highways & transportation to learn the latest thinking and approaches to help manage road assets for more resilient networks.

A new report (published 12 July 2017) provides authoritative scientific assessment of climate change risks to UK.  Climate change is happening now. Globally, 14 of the 15 hottest years on record have occurred since 2000.  The impacts of climate change are already being felt in the UK, and urgent action is required to address climate-related risks,according to the the CCC’s Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC). The ASC’s new independent report to Government, ‘UK Climate Change Risk Assessment Evidence Report’ sets out the most urgent risks and opportunities arising for the UK from climate change.
