  • How we define resilience within the UK;
  • What measures are in place nationally, regionally, and locally to deal with resilience planning and emergency control;
  • How these responsibilities are discharged including the links between different departments, plans and policies;
  • What impact the floods of 2007 have had on resilience planning;
  • How the Pitt Report dealt with the issues;
  • How resilience is built into the design of infrastructure and what measures have been taken and are being taken to protect critical infrastructure; and
  • What the new Government's approach to resilience planning is.
