Leeds City Council Urban Traffic Management and Control has used Intelligent Transport Systems to give significant added value to a traditional UTC system. This has facilitated Leeds position in ranking with the best European cities in the use of ITS to reduce congestion and delays for transport in and around the city for all users.
LCC are also leading the way in providing the travelling public with timely, relevant travel information, providing them with the opportunity to modify their journey plans as and when appropriate.
This presentation by Gordon Robertson of Leeds City Council and Fraser MacDonald of Mott MacDonald Ltd. will explore the challenges faced by Leeds and the innovations introduced to meet these challenges.
