There can be no doubt the importance location plays across the transport industry. Be it planning, managing or using, location is a vital piece of the jigsaw. Over the last few years there has been an explosion in the adoption of location based geospatial technology within the transport sector. This is partly due to advances in IT and data collection as well as an increased appetite from consumers to visualise information using a location. 

 

Ewan Peters, Global GIS Leader at Arup, will reflect on how geospatial technology is being used and also explore possible future applications.
