Young Professionals Group Styling the City

CIHT West Midlands Young Professionals Group presents 'Styling the City'

Due to the success of last year's event 'Styling the City' is back!

This event is based on local government brewcamps which were first organised for digital people working in and around government to meet and listen to a speaker then ask questions/discuss the topic over a cup of tea, hence the name 'brewcamp'!

What format will it be?
It's informal; there will be three speakers and an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topic/issues as well as to chat to the others who come along.

SESSION 1: Sustainable City - In 2012 the West Midlands was awarded £50m from the DfT as part the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF). Since then many schemes have been delivered across the region. Jaswant S Chahal from Birmingham City Council speaks about some of the projects which have been delivered across the city.
SESSION 2: Parking in the City - 'Parking' can conjure up certain images in most people's heads, most related to the 'traffic warden', getting a parking ticket or having to pay to park. However, parking is broader than that. Liz Davison from Atkins discusses the topic and hopes you will learn something about parking that you didn't know before!
SESSION 3: Birmingham Mobility Action Plan (BMAP) - David Harris from Birmingham City Council looks at the issues facing transport in Birmingham and how the BMAP will seek to deliver a change in transport provision in the city.

Date: Tuesday 10 June 2014
Time: 18:00 for an 18:30 start. Refreshments will be provided.
Venue: AECOM, Colmore Plaza, 20 Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham, B4 6AT
