The overall judging will consider how investing in people through health and wellbeing, skills and training and diversity and inclusion initiatives have made a positive contribution to the company, industry and society. Civic Engineers

When faced with the unique circumstances of the pandemic, Civic Engineers focused on engaging, inclusive communications that sought to support individual’s health and wellbeing as a priority, reinforce Civic’s strong values and culture and ensure that all team members felt well informed, supported and listened and able to work flexibly to during the uncertain times. Through honest, open, regular communication, feedback and fun initiatives, the practice continued to grow, with over 35 new team members during 2020 and work continued uninterrupted with high levels of engagement, understanding and productivity.

Project Centre recognise their greatest strength is the people they employ, and Project Centre is committed to equality of opportunity and employment. They have made a concerted effort to engage and listen to staff to improve their culture and ensure staff feel happy, supported and challenged.

Project Centre have focused on “growing their own” and creating a more inclusive workplace, which have increased staff happiness and retention. They have implemented several initiatives including a Equality and Inclusion Group, the Women’s Learning and Development Network and Senior Leadership Mentoring as well as focused on career planning and development so staff are supported throughout their careers.

With over 1,700 people working across the UK, Stantec plan, design, deliver and manage the development and infrastructure needed to support the creation of sustainable, healthy and prosperous communities.

Stantec’s success is testament to the enthusiasm, dedication and commitment of their people who have faced unprecedented challenges in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
