A new CIHT blog post points towards actions needed to be taken to improve the management of street works. Read it here. The blog post was accompanied by an article featured in the January issue of the Transportation Professional which is available via the CIHT members website here.

The blog discusses how the street works industry has generally been poor at informing road users of disruptive forthcoming street works. Several actions needed to amend the poor passing on of information as well as measures to improve the street works itself is given.

Considering amongst other things the Department for Transports upcoming digital service Street Manager and the ongoing review of the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways, these are issues that professionals working with street works should find interesting.
