The CIHT Awards is an annual global competition that gives the work you are most proud of the recognition it truly deserves.

CIHT emphasises that the 2026 awards remain open and accessible to all organisations working in highways and transportation.

As in previous years:

• The awards are free to enter
• No project too big or too small
• Entries can be from any location
• Entries are open to every organisation working in the sector, whether a CIHT partner or not
• Entries can be submitted by anyone whether a CIHT member or not
• Organisations can enter as many eligible projects as they wish
• Eligible projects can be entered for as many categories as appropriate
• Organisations can enter as many categories as they are eligible for
• An organisation can also enter as many distinct eligible projects as they wish for a category

The 2026 awards will span a broad set of categories to reflect the diverse range of work in the sector. These include;

• Collaboration
• Creating Better Places
• Decarbonisation
• Equality
• Diversity & Inclusion
• Health & Safety in the Workplace
• Infrastructure
• Product of the Year
• Research
• Resilience
• Road Safety
• Sustainability
• Team of the Year
• Technology & Digital Transformation,

as well as a series of Bus-Centre-of-Excellence awards including

• Bus Initiative of the Year
• Bus Person of the Year
• Emerging Bus Professional.

Organisations are encouraged to use the weeks ahead to assemble their teams, gather documentation, collate project summaries, and prepare supporting materials such as high-resolution images or videos.
