On 24 June 2009, IHT held the 79th Annual General Meeting at the Britannia Walk offices in London.
David Tarrant provided a full report on a busy year in office, highlights of which included the move to new offices, the Royal Opening, development of the new IHT website and a whole host of events during the year.
The meeting adopted the Annual Accounts for 2008 and reappointed Saffery Champness as our auditors for the year ending December 31 2009.

The meeting agreed two important extra items of business,the changes to the Memorandum and Articles to comply with Scottish Charity Law to enable IHT to register as a charity in Scotland and members also agreed the petition Charter and Bye Laws, as part of the submission to the Privy Council to become chartered.
David Tarrant gave his thanks to members, the branches and staff at the Institution as he summed up his successful Presidential year. David was then presented with a gift and his Past President medal before Chris Jackson was installed as IHT President for 2009-10.
