Alan Kelly TD, Minister for Public and Commuter Transport has commenced a series of symposiums across Ireland to investigate the feasibility of introducing Bike Share Schemes in Cork, Waterford, Limerick and Galway. This move follows the massive success of Dublin’s Bike Share Scheme, which now has almost 65,000 members and is the most successful scheme in Europe. Expansion of the scheme to regional cities will be a significant move towards achieving the 2020 Smarter Travel target for 10% of all trips to be by bike.
