Following on from the success of the Presidential Conference in Belfast, CIHT President Geoff Allister has been busy hosting branch events and giving technical presentations across the country.

Geoff works in Northern Ireland where he is the Chief Executive with the Department for Regional Development’s Roads Service.

His primary role is to lead, manage and motivate the Agency at a strategic level to meet its policy objectives and its financial and operational targets. Roads Service is currently responsible for the management, maintenance and development of 25,000 km of public roads in Northern Ireland and has approximately 2,200 staff with a budget in 2010/11 of approximately £400m.

Geoff has over 30 years experience of the delivery of highway services and has been a Director of the Agency since 2001. Recently he has had responsibility for the delivery of the Roads Service Strategic Roads Improvement Programme.
