Yesterday (17 June) Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) hosted a Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons.

The event welcomed MPs, peers, ITS UK members and stakeholders to celebrate the role of transport technology.

Speakers at the event included Lilian Greenwood MP, Minister for Future of Roads, Lord Daniel Moylan, Conservative Shadow Transport Minister, and Paul Kohler MP, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Transport.

Max Sugarman CEO ITS UK said:

ITS UK is [there] to support all those who want to utilise technology to improve the transport network.

Lilian Greenwood MP highlighted the necessity of adopting innovation and technology into transport:

The transport AI action plan is a really important part of adopting emerging technologies] which launched just this week. It sets out DFT's approach to embracing emerging technology, recognising its ability to increase our resilience, boost productivity and improve our everyday.

Lord Moylan said:

Transport really is about connecting communities. Creating opportunities, innovation, competition and smart regulation of the tools that will enable us to build a system that is not only effective and safe, but truly inclusive and sustain and sustainable.
