Professionals from the highways and transportation industry came together last night to celebrate a wide range of remarkable schemes and initiatives at the prestigious CIHT Awards 2014.
The 9th annual CIHT Awards saw the outstanding achievements of those working in the sector rewarded and their work promoted as best practice to the industry.
This year’s event, which was held on 11 June at the Royal Courts of Justice, London, with almost 400 industry professionals, was hosted by BBC business reporter and former winner of 'Young Engineer for Britain', Steph McGovern.
Well-deserved winners from across the highways and transportation sector took to the stage to accept their awards from CIHT President, Sheila Holden and Steph McGovern.
The Institution was delighted that they could be joined by Robert Goodwill MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, who presented the CIHT / Department for Transport Reducing Sign Clutter Award.
Sue Percy, CIHT Chief Executive, said, "The CIHT Awards 2014 are a celebration of all the excellent work currently taking place in the sector. The Awards recognise the remarkable achievements of those working in our industry and help to identify and promote good practice.
“I would like to thank all of those who took the time to enter the Awards this year. The quality of the entries was extremely high and those who made the shortlist should be very proud of the high standard they achieved to reach that stage.
“We hope that this year’s entries will inspire even more organisations to enter the Awards next year.”
CIHT would like to thank all those who participated in the event, including the sponsors for their generosity, the Royal Courts of justice for their hospitality and all the organisations who submitted an excellent array of entries.
There was over 130 entries to this year’s awards, with 41 projects and schemes making it into the final shortlist in 11 Awards categories. However, there could only be 11 winners (below).
