140618_CIHT-Awards_224Professionals from the highways and transportation sector gathered last week for the ninth annual CIHT Awards at the Royal Courts of Justice in central London.

Almost 400 people attended the 2014 ceremony, enjoying drinks, networking and dinner before the main Awards presentation hosted by BBC business reporter and former winner of 'Young Engineer for Britain', Steph McGovern.

CIHT Chief Executive Sue Percy said: “The Awards recognise the remarkable achievements of those working in our industry and help to identify and promote good practice.

“The quality of the entries was extremely high and those who made the shortlist should be very proud of the high standard they achieved to reach that stage.”

Before dinner, CIHT President Sheila Holden presented the CIHT Institution Award to independent consultant Jim Barton for his significant work with Transport Scotland and the World Road Association. She also presented the Emerging Transportation Professional Award 2014 to Emily White of Jacobs for services to the Institution through the Thames & Chilterns Branch.
