The shortlist of finalists for the 2026 Apprentice and Emerging Professional of the Year awards has been revealed. Shortlisted applicants will now go forward to a round of interviews with the judging panel before winners are revealed at the Emerging Professionals Conference to be held at London Regents Park Royal College of Physicians on 08 September 2026.

It was an interesting and rewarding experience to review applicants for Apprentice and Emerging Professionals, the first time I’ve been involved in this judging assessment. I was impressed by the standard of entries, how the candidates had gained opportunities for personal development in their careers, had learned from these, and encouraged their peers and other colleagues to be active in CIHT involvement, both attending events and contribution to region and national events and activities. The applicants showed a professional approach to their careers, whether in very early years or with more experience including participating in professional institution activities for their benefit and the profession more widely.
These awards enable applicants to demonstrate their professional development and support others in their future careers and I encourage others to apply in future opportunities.
