Supported by the Highways Agency
The CIHT Awards aim to celebrate and reward the good work currently taking place in the highways and transportation sector.
This year the awards, which take place on 14 June, include a unique opportunity for CIHT Corporate Partners to showcase their organisation by entering the new 'CIHT Employer Award for Excellence in Skills Development'.
The new award, supported by the Highways Agency, aims to recognise outstanding achievement and commitment to skills development by employers and is only open to CIHT Corporate Partners.
With the contracting transport workforce, and the ever growing demands on our transport networks – CIHT is interested in seeing the work your organisation has put in to recruit, retain and nurture talented individuals who represent the future of our industry.
So, if you are involved in a programme supporting or developing the wealth of innovative young people starting their career and/or people amidst a career change, CIHT would be keen to hear from you.
Graham Dalton, Chief Executive, Highways Agency said:
“In Transport we have an ageing and shrinking workforce, at a time when the demands on our transport networks are increasing relentlessly. Meanwhile, there is a rich community of young people starting their career and not so young people changing career. Some employers have spotted this, and have launched outstanding programmes to recruit, retain and develop talented people - the future of our industry. If you are one of those employers, then show us what good looks like!"
