This week, Mitesh Solanki, CIHT president was interviewed by the NCE website. The article 'Calls for greater transport resilience during snow as experts detail scale of disruption' contained a series of comments from industry figures.

In his comments, Mitesh emphasised that recent snow events have shown the severe impact on highways, transport logistics, and local communities, with disruption reaching up to 80% and financial costs in the hundreds of millions. He called for better, more detailed data on snowfall severity to inform long-term planning and investment, stressing that current aggregated figures are insufficient. Mitesh also urged turning existing contingency policies into actionable measures, improving coordination across agencies, and accelerating adaptation efforts to prepare for increasingly severe weather conditions driven by climate change.
