From 25 May 2018, all organisations will need to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is the biggest reform of data protection law for decades and represents a significant upgrade to the current legislation.

How is CIHT Responding?
CIHT are planning on launching a new website (including an integrated membership database) in summer 2018. One of the new features will enable registered users of the website (including members) to be able to select preferences for communication activity (e.g. receiving marketing / update emails, opting in and out of contact by telephone / post etc).
Until the new website is launched, CIHT members will continue to be able to amend their contact details and opt-in or out of communications via the MyCIHT section of the website www.ciht.org.uk/myciht

CIHT has created a section on the website where members can find out more about GDPR and is available here. Background information on GDPR is also available via the ICO website
