CIHT Honours Michèle Dix at industry awards
A showcase of best transport practice honoured at the CIHT Awards 2015
CIHT has presented Michèle Dix with its Institution Award at the CIHT Awards event in London last night.
Professionals from the highways and transportation industry came together to celebrate a wide range of remarkable schemes and initiatives at the prestigious CIHT Awards 2015.
The 10th annual CIHT Awards saw the outstanding achievements of those working in the sector rewarded and their work promoted as best practice to the industry.
The CIHT Institution Award is for excellence within the transportation profession and to celebrate individuals who, through their work, have made a significant contribution that has benefited the public and the profession.
David Gibby, CIHT President said: ‘CIHT are delighted to present Michèle Dix with this award. We felt that Michèle deserves recognition for her ongoing contribution to policy formulation, technology and management in highways and transportation. CIHT is very proud to honour Michèle with this award as we believe that she is an outstanding individual who continues to act as a leader and an inspiration to others.”
This year’s event, which was held on 9 June 2015 at the Landmark London Hotel, with over 450 industry professionals, was hosted by the actor and TV presenter Robert Llewellyn.
Well-deserved winners from across the sector took to the stage to accept their awards from CIHT President, David Gibby and Robert Llewellyn. They were joined by Andrew Jones MP, Parliamentary under Secretary of State for Transport, who presented the CIHT / Department for Transport Reducing Sign Clutter Award.
Sue Percy, CIHT Chief Executive, said "The CIHT Awards 2015 are a celebration of all the excellent work currently taking place in the sector. The Awards recognise the remarkable achievements of those working in our industry and help to identify and promote good practice.”
“We would like to thank all of those who took the time to enter the Awards this year. 2015 was our tenth anniversary for these awards and we received more entries than ever before. The quality of the entries was extremely high and those who made the shortlist should be very proud of the high standard they achieved to reach that stage.”
“We hope that this year’s entries will inspire even more organisations to enter the Awards next year.”
CIHT would like to thank all those who participated in the event, including the sponsors for their generosity, the Landmark London Hotel for their hospitality and all the organisations who submitted an excellent array of entries.
There were over 180 entries to this year’s awards, with 46 projects and schemes making it into the final shortlist in 11 Awards categories. However, there could only be 11 winners (below).
