The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) held a joint fringe event at the Conservative Party Conference on Wednesday 1st October in Birmingham.

Almost 100 people filled the fringe event, 'How can planning help deliver the transport infrastructure we need?', which provided guests with the opportunity to debate the key issues facing transport infrastructure and planning ahead of the 2015 General Election.

Speakers at the event included Bob Neill MP, Mark Pawsey MP, RTPI Chief Executive Trudi Elliott, CIHT Chief Executive Sue Percy, CIHT President David Gibby and RTPI Immediate Past President Dr Peter Geraghty.
