To meet CIHT’s approval criteria, training providers must offer courses that focus on developing skills and knowledge in the planning, building, managing and maintaining of transport infrastructure and services.

The training must be delivered by qualified specialists with appropriate practical and theoretical knowledge, and course providers must be able to demonstrate that their training teams have experience of designing courses that produce specific learning outcomes and have a practical application in the workplace.

“We will consider applications from training providers delivering courses across a range of subject areas with the aim of providing a rich choice of learning experiences.

“It is essential that all of our practising members update their skills and knowledge regularly to meet their obligations under CIHT’s Code of Professional Conduct and we see the ATP scheme being key in supporting that.”

Approved status is a mark of quality that CIHT awards to training providers and teaching centres who meet the Institution’s standards for training content and delivery.

Approved Training Provider Scheme

To qualify as an approved training provider, organisations will be required to fulfill the criteria and standards outlined below

CIHT Approved Training Provider Standards

• Sector relevant
  Content of training programs and CPD activities focus on developing skills and knowledge in planning, design, building and managing transport and infrastructure.
• Quality training
  Training programs and CPD activities are delivered by qualified specialists using a wide range of learning methods to meet the needs of their learners.
• Impactful learning
  Learning supported by relevant content of which impact can be measured and evaluated.
• Satisfactory Management Process
  Approved Training Providers must have data management systems in place to ensure the protection of delegates information and where appropriate, adequate safeguarding arrangements.
• Approved Training Providers
  All approved training providers will be listed on the CIHT website and have been reviewed and reached the CIHT ATP standard.
